RS3 Body & Paint is a third-generation, family-owned auto body shop specializing in collision repair, with extensive experience in restoration and custom body work. Honest service, quality craftsmanship, and doing right by every customer are the foundation of the shop.
True to the family’s word, every repair is completed with hard work and careful attention to detail, big or small. All major insurance companies are supported, and the repair process is handled personally to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible. When a vehicle is brought in, it’s in skilled and dependable hands.
Through Our History
The story began in 1936, when Richard Schoon Sr. opened a collision repair shop in Lansing, Illinois. Built on hard work, integrity, and quality craftsmanship, the business quickly earned a trusted reputation in the community.
The shop was later passed down to Richard Schoon Jr., who carried on the family tradition and relocated the business to Lynwood, Illinois. Each generation has maintained the same commitment to honest service and skilled, old-fashioned craftsmanship.
That legacy continues today with Richard Schoon III. In 2021, the family passion was revived with the creation of RS3 Body & Paint, carrying forward the same dedication, pride, and attention to detail that started it all.
